An albatross Is defined as an annoying burden. For some of you blogging has become an albatross around your neck.
I know this because it has personally happened to me. I also know this is true because of the number of blogs I have been on that are woefully behind in updating their content.
So what can you do if your blog has become something that is no longer fun, and even worse, has become an annoying burden?
1. Cancel it. Depending on how much traffic your blog is getting you may be better off to just delete it and forget about it.
Many people start blogs in niches that they really do not have an interest in. Unless it's a profitable niche that you can capitalize on quickly, often times you will never make any money and just give up on it.
If the thought of adding a new blog post is something you constantly put off, why not just cancel your blog? There are plenty of other ways to make money on the Internet besides blogging.
2. Hire a frelance blogger. There are plenty of blog writers that will write content for you at an affordable price. $30 range. If you are not real picky about how well written they are you can even buy them for less than that. You can purchase 4 blog articles of 250 words each in the $20-
Purchase 4 at a time and submit them to your blog. Space out the publish date one week apart, and you have one months worth of content. The great thing is you will spend less than 30 minutes a month doing this.
3. Start a new blog. There is something liberating about starting a blog around a theme you actually have an interest in.
Unless you just plain do not like to write, you will find it is enjoyable to sit down and post consistently. It never really seems like writing when you are just putting down your thoughts about something you're passionate about, or already have a good working knowledge of.
If you do not want to spend any money go to Blogger.com and start a blog. This is still a good way to make money blogging without spending anything but your time.
4. Writing is not for everyone. I would venture to say that most bloggers do not make much if any money on the Internet.
Today there really are so many ways to make money online that there is no sense blogging if you don't want to. I personally kind of feel the same way about social networking.
I have never been able to get the hang of logging into my Facebook account and interacting with people. Perhaps you feel the same way about blogging. These kind of social media programs are not for everybody.
Consider these tips if your blog has become an albatross around your neck. The sooner you make a decision about what to do with an abandoned blog the better off you will be.
