They then give up and start looking at another type of Internet marketing. In reality writing two or three articles is like opening a restaurant at 6:00 a.m. and closing it at 6:01. You're not even open long enough to attract any customers.


2. Think about the theme of the articles you're writing. It's important that you are somewhat timely in what people are searching for. Targeting keyword phrases is good, but the theme of the article must be something that is on the minds of your readers.

When you talk about driving targeted traffic to your website you're really looking for people that are interested in what you have to sell. If your articles are providing useful information people will click on the link in your resource box to find out more about you and your products.

3. Avoid blatant advertising. Don't you try to sneak in references to product you are selling in the body of the article.

Certainly do not write articles that sound like sales copy as article directories will not accept them and if they are accepted people will not read those.

4. Write a simple resource box. I have always liked to look at the resource boxes of expert authors in various article directories. The authors who have written the greatest number of articles have discovered what a good resource box is.


These are a great source of ideas for writing your own resource box. You will find that a simple resource box that presents an offer and a call to action is generally all you need to get people to click on the link you provide.
